In Uruguay, we helped a couple further their goal of establishing and setting up a spiritual healing retreat center. The climate in their area is seasonally very wet, yet most of the soils are dry, sandy, and poor. To improve and rehydrate these soils, they were looking to capture as much of that seasonal rainfall as possible and keep it on their land. To accomplish this, we created a spring-fed water retention feature from a slow-flowing spring.
We also developed a terrace that helps carry the overflow water from the water feature down around to feed the rest of the property, before returning to the river. Lastly, we established a strategic outline for the future and have plans for several next phase projects as well.
